Q.  The TECH CHECK doesn’t work

A. This is most likely due to your school’s firewall. You will need to contact your IT services and ask them to allow .auckland.ac.nz through. You also need to make sure you have an up to date version of Adobe flash Player.  On the day, if you are unable to see the broadcast from this website, you can visit here instead. It will be showing the broadcast with a slightly larger delay (up to 3 seconds) but will still deliver an excellent experience.

 

Q.  How do I see the broadcast on the day?
A. The video on the TECH CHECK page will turn into the live broadcast on Thursday. Therefore, you can watch it by clicking here. By hovering over the video and clicking on the expand button that appears, you can make the video full screen. If the video does not work, visit here instead. It will be showing the broadcast with a slightly larger delay (up to 3 seconds) but will still deliver an excellent experience.

 

Q.  When does the Blog BLAST competition open and close?

A. Entries for Blog BLAST open on the 11th February 2014, and close on the 28th of February 2014.

 

Q.  Can I put pictures in my Blog BLAST entry?

A. No, our judges will be looking at your words alone!

 

Q.  What happens if I win, but am not from Auckland?

A.  Winners under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult, and if from outside of Auckland, both yours and your support persons travel will be paid for.  If 16 yrs or over, and from outside Auckland, only the student’s travel will be paid for.

 

Q.  Can I enter more than once for the Blog BLAST competition?

A.  Nope, sorry!  One entry per student.

 

Q.  Where is the studio audience located?

A. The event is being held at and streamed from the Fale Pasifika Complex, University of Auckland.

 

Q.  Is parking available for while attending the studio audience?

A.  Parking is the responsibility of your school, but is available in the Owen Glen Building.

 

Q.  Teacher: Can I have my groups of 10 students from Yrs 7-10 and 12/13 each stay for the whole day?

A.  Unfortunately due to limited space, only 10 students per school, per session are allowed.  If you want your students to stay for both sessions, you are limited to bringing only 10 in total.

 

Q.  Does it cost anything?

A.  Attendance either through live streaming or as a part of the studio audience is free of charge.  Your school however, is responsible for transport and parking to and from the venue, if needed, and providing the internet connection and devices on which to view the broadcasts and participate in the LiveChat.
